“Blanche & Blanche” by Stefan Andersson

Blanche Dickson and Blanche Bonde. Two exciting women who made a lasting impact in Tjolöholm and local history. Who were they really? With new stories and new music sounds Stefan Andersson Blanche & Blanche take place. When darkness falls outside the castle, we light the candelabras, put on the linen cloths and take you to the turn of the century between 1800 and the 1900s. Tudor brunch in Storstugan

During the winter a brunch is served, inspired by flavors from the 16th century, related to the exhibition “Elizabeth I at Tjolöholm’s Castle”.

Among the dishes served are, for example, soups, salmon and fig pie, pork pie, crisp winter slaw, Tudor baked ham,salt beef, bacon, meatballs, roasted potatoes, bulgur wheat salad, fruit fool and  sticky ginger cake.

The brunch costs 190 SEK incl coffee, children up to 14 years 100 SEK. Storstugan is also serves soup, sandwiches and cakes. Open Saturday-Sunday 12-16.

 

Elizabeth I

Few historical rulers are as mythical as England’s Elizabeth I. Even 500 years after her death she continues to arouse fascination around the world in new books, documentaries and films made about her life. With its British heritage and Elizabethan inspired architecture, Tjolöholm Castle is the natural setting to tell the story of this remarkable woman. The exhibition “Elizabeth I at Tjolöholm’s Castle” shows some of the magnificent costumes from the blockbuster film Elizabeth: The Golden Age.

The exhibition is produced by Tjolöholms Slott in association with NBC Universal and Livrustkammaren in Stockholm.

 

Open in December

Guided tours of the castle Saturdays and Sundays 12.00 and 14.00 1-20 Dec and daily 25-30 Dec with tours at 12.00, 13.30 and 15.00.

Restaurant Storstugan is open Saturdays and Sundays 12.00-16.00 1-20 Dec.

Coffee and cakes is served in the castle 25-30 Dec 12.00-16.00.
